Hasselbeck wins plagiarism lawsuit over 'G-Free Diet' book
(Huffington Post 12.8.10)
Elisabeth Hasselbeck has won a lawsuit charging her with
plagiarism, it was announced Monday. The U.S. District Court in
Massachusetts, where the lawsuit was filed, found no evidence that
Hasselbeck had plagiarized a book by author Susan Hassett. Hassett
contended that Hasselbeck, who is a co-host on "The
View," had plagiarized a book she had written in 2008 on
coping with the digestive disorder celiac disease. Hasselbeck, who
suffers from the disease, wrote a book of her own on the subject
called "The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide" in
2009, prompting the lawsuit.

Ex-'Survivor' Contestant Daytime Anchor at WWMT
(The Grand Rapids Press - 6.17.07)
What do an "Australian Outback Survivor" cast
member, a host who worked the red carpet for the TV Guide
Channel and the new morning and noon weekday anchor at WWMT-TV
(Channel 3) have in common? They are the same person. In
addition to his lengthy and impressive resume, Jeff Varner has a
"great personality" and is a "terrific
anchor," said James Lutton, Channel 3's general manager.
Varner will begin in late June and will replace Mike Bridges,
who will remain as a weekend anchor and reporter as well as
doing fill-in work for News 3.
